The Law School’s goal set for the B.A. in law program is to create the top-notch law major education in China and first rate across the globe. Our law education is aimed to help students to become legal talents of highest-quality, who are open-minded, far-sighted, vast-knowledged, solidly trained, practically able, humanity sensitive, ethically aspiring, and competent in the national and international competitive worlds.
In 2009, the B.A. in law program was rated as the specialty major of the national level. The “International Trade Law” course was promoted by the Ministry of Education as the “Model Bilingual Law Courses” for the country. Courses like Jurisprudence, administrative law, general theories of criminal law, and criminal procedural law are selected as the paradigmatic courses for the province. In 2019, B.A. in law program was included in the best programs of the Shandong University.
The law school works by all means to explore the innovative way in legal education. In the current
B.A. program, there are law major, dual major in law and English literature (experimental program for outstanding international talent training), and Sino-Japanese trade and law major, and etc..
The dual major in law and English literature(experimental program for outstanding international
talent training) sets a unique model by way of “five-year joint training program in law and English” supported by law school and school of foreign languages. This dual major program education emphasizes the combination of legal expertise and foreign linguistic ability, and sets to help the students cultivate the ability both in law and foreign languages. This program requires five years at the time of graduation with both B.A. degrees in law and English literature.
